Is anyone from the community aware of a reliable source that chronicles the founding / establishment of all South African towns?

I found the book Town Planning in South Africa by TB Floyd and it is useful to cross check with other sources such as Hans Fransen's book Old Towns and Villages of the Cape. Both sources unfortunately only list towns established until 1900. I then consulted The SA Local Government Annual Yearbook (published from 1910-1993/4) which gives an indication for when a municipality was established (sometimes much later than the town was founded). Nevertheless, I am hoping to find more detailed and accurate information.
