WFH Pocock bought the house Carisbrooke in St James and later built two smaller ones behind it. He lived there for many years and was Mayor of Kalk Bay – Muizenberg Municipality in 1897-98 and 1910-11, and City Councilor 1913 - 1916. He came from a long line of professional pharmacists and had a successful business that later became Heynes Mathew Ltd. He pioneered X-ray work, and was a leading photographer.

Barrie Gasson will present a brief biography of Pocock and screen a sequence of his photos matched with images of current scenes.
