I am trying to identify the place where my ancestor Thomas Leonard Atkinson is buried. He died in the South African War.
He was born in Kirkby Thore, Westmorland, UK in May 1879 and joined the Border Regiment. There is a memorial in the nearby town of Appleby which indicates that he died at Potchefstroom and I believe he was a victim of enteric fever.
He may he buried in the Military Cemetery in Potchefstroom. I would like to visit his grave to pay respect to his memory but I need help to identify exactly where he lies.
Can anyone from the community assist?
