On behalf of the Border Historical Society, the MOTHS and the SA Legion you are hereby invited to the rededication of the Cambridge War Memorial - on the centenary of its original unveiling in 1922.
The rededication and 'unveiling' of the restored Roll of Honour and the commemorative plaque will take place at the War Memorial in Mayfair Road, Cambridge on Sunday 17 July 2022 at 10:30 for 10:45
The programme for the event is as follows:
10:30 - Medley of tunes by the East London Caledonian Society Pipe Band | Ex. Serviceman form up at Memorial with Blazers and medals
10:45 - Welcome and thanks by Lt-Col (rtd) Malcolm Cock JCD
10:50 - Consecration of the restored memorial by Rev Denis de Lange
11:00 - Unveiling of restored plaques by RSM Butler van der Vyver MMM | Last Post by trumpeter Jordan Blundell | Minute silence | Reveille by trumpeter Jordan Blundell
11:10 - Wreath Laying
11:20 - Lament: The Flowers of the Forest by the East London Caledonian Society Pipe Band
11:25 - Closure : Lt-Col (rtd) Malcolm Cock JCD
11:30 - Open invitation to all present to gather at the MOTH Hall at 20 Strathmore Ave, cor Elizabeth in Cambridge for liquid refreshments. A cash bar will be available.
