The Lower Albany Historical Society was established in 1958. The Society aims to search for and collect knowledge concerning the history of Lower Albany, to disseminate such knowledge, and to preserve historical buildings and movable objects. The LAHS was instrumental in the establishment of the Kowie Museum in the mid 1980s.
