Last year there was a change in ownership of Parker's ‎Building in Fish Hoek. The building lies between 1st and 2nd Avenue on Kommetjie Road, across from the Outspan. The new owner, Gavin Webb, gave me access to t‎he building plans. Much to everyone's surprise, the ‎building had been constructed in 1923 for a Mr Stein, a Jewish gentleman. This led to more revelations when the plans for the building next door were analysed.

I produced a ‎poster to record and to share the new information. The poster, being Part 1 of the short Trail, thus celebrates some unknown Jewish heritage and the site of Mr AP Jones' first shop at Nr 10 Kommetjie Road.

It is planned to produce a second poster (Part 2) to cover the lesser known facts of other nearby buildings occupied by the first retailers in the coastal town. Click here to view a large version of the poster.

Copies of the poster are available for free from the barista in the building‎.
