My uncle, Percy Jansen Van Rensburg, was the sculptor of a huge granite horse that stood rearing in front of the Chamber of Mines in Johannesburg CBD for many years, definitely in the late 60s / early 70s, when I last saw it as a child. I can't find any photos online, and my sister says it was broken down a long time ago. Does anyone from the community remember this statue and have any photographs?
