Bisham Blue Plaque - source by Kathy Munro

Designed by P Hill Mitchelson in 1903, this handsome house was first occupied by A J Constable, Outdoors Manager of Central S A Railways. Crucial to the reconstruction of the Transvaal and the Orange Free State which had been devastated by war, suitably skilled staff were recruited from men serving in the British Army and senior railwaymen were housed in Parktown. The House retains most of its original features.
