I have read with interest the article by Carol Hardijzer “Passionate About Tennis” and its collection of photographs of tennis players from 1909-1913 (click here to read). I enclose a photograph of the South Africa Davis Cup team of 1919. My grandfather, who played with George Dodd in the doubles, is seated on the right. The man in the uniform of the Royal Flying Corps, top left is Louis Rosman Raymond, who went on to stardom. In the second photo my grandfather is top right and Louis Raymond can be seen second from left in the front row.  I would like to be able to put names to the other figures in the photos. I would be most grateful if members of the community could suggest anyone or any organisation who could help with this.

Thank you in advance

PS - My grandfather, Harold Isidro Power Aitken was a cable clerk with the Eastern Telegraph Company.  In 1909 he married Edith Hall and his employers moved him to Cape Town for 10 years. His address is shown on the birth certificate of his son Claude, my father, as The Foreland, Avenue Protea, Sea Point, Cape Town. He captained the Sea Point tennis team in 1912, and returned to England in 1919, when he played for South Africa in the Davis Cup.  Here is the Sea Point photo.  HIP is on left, middle row.
