Blue Plaque 12 Heidelberg Heritage Association - Nederduitsche Hervormde Church

Under the leadership of DS AJG Oosthuizen, (who served from 1928 to 1941), the cornerstone of the church was laid on the 15 th of October 1932. The church was designed by Gerard Moerdyk, famous for designing the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria. The church was inaugurated on the 14th of April 1933, but was hampered by an outbreak of “Foot and mouth disease” that prevented members from the farms attending.
