Dutch Reformed Church of Fairview - Blue Plaque - Johannesburg Heritage Foundation

Architects Kallenbach and Reynolds chose the shape of a Greek cross to accommodate the large church on its square site. Their treatment of the corner, rising to the pencil-point steeple is a pinnacle in stone, reaching above its neighbours to the heavens. General de la Rey laid the foundation stone on 2 May 1906 and the first service was held on 26 January 1907.
