Notice is hereby given of a meeting for everyone regarded as an interested party/ stakeholder of/member of the Simonâs Town community to decide the future direction of the Simonâs Town Museum. The Board has to make important decisions soon based on the Amendment to the Museum Ordinance no.8 of 1975. They require your carefully considered input on whether the Simonâs Town Museum should:
1. Become part of the Regional Museum of Cape Town and the West Coast â ie., Simonâs Town would be a satellite of the RM of CT&WC
2. Or go it alone as a community museum (and not be affiliated to the Province), in which case it would receive no funding, or staff from the Province.
A community stakeholder meeting will be held on Tuesday, 28th November 2017 at 17h30.
Please attend, because we need feedback that is as respresentative of the Simon's Town community as possible.
