The Annual Mapungubwe Lecture Series is an activity-packed weekend event held at Mapungubwe National Park, a cultural heritage site. The main attraction of this event is a key note lecture delivered by prolific and knowledgeable speakers sharing their expertise on a variety of topics relating to the ancient Mapungubwe kingdom. Guests will be transported back in time as they explore the proud history of Southern Africa's first kingdom through various activities. These include a guided heritage trail and museum visit, storytelling around the fire at the confluence where three countries meet, as well as cultural performances. This all culminates into an amazing traditional music festival under the stars on the banks of the Limpopo River. The keynote speaker for this year is Professor Maano Ramutsindela from UCT. The next Mapungubwe Lecture series event will be held on the 25th to 27th October 2019.
