PQ Vundla Blue Plaque - Sourced by Kathy Munro

Philip Qipu Vundla started his activism working for the African Mineworkers Union and, in 1944, the National Anti-Pass Campaign. Bitterly opposed to to the forced removals from Western Native Township, he served for three years on the NEC of the ANC, but was expelled over the schools boycott. PQ believed education was more vital for liberation than guns. He joined Moral Rearmament and was elected to the Soweto Urban Council in 1968.
