A Draft Heritage Impact Assessment Report was compiled for the area known as the Knowledge Precinct consisting of the University of Johannesburg Bunting Road and Kingsway campuses, Auckland Park and sections of Cottesloe, Melville, Westdene and Rossmore where the City of Johannesburg wishes to implement the Corridors of Freedom Strategic Area Framework which will involve the upgrade of social facilities, amendments to height zones, transport related upgrades & mixed-use zoning amendments.

Any interested or affected party who wishes to comment on the report is invited to do so in writing to the Provincial Heritage Resources Authority Gauteng Private Bag X33, Johannesburg, 2000 or Fax: (011) 355 2513 / 2878 or mail to Tebogo.Molokomme@gauteng.gov.za

Closing date for comments: 30th of June 2016

The Draft Heritage Impact Assessment Report can be viewed in the Melville Public Library or downloaded from www.corridorsoffreedom.co.za. All interested and affected parties are invited to a public participation meeting on Wednesday, 8th of June at 6pm at the Auckland Park Bunting Road campus: Great Hall 202, Bunting Road, Cottesloe/ Auckland Park
