The Modderfontein Conservation Society is providing the opportunity for members of the public to take a walk through the past as the to highlight International Museum Day.
The Society’s heritage champion, Keith Martin will lead the walk and share some interesting insights and amusing anecdotes about Modderfontein which turns 130 years old this year.
Features of the walk will include access to the Dynamite Company Museum, the Old Casino building and historic Franz Höenig Haus.
The easy walk around the village’s Heritage Precinct will take place on Saturday 23 May, starting at 09:30 from The Dynamite Company Museum at 2 Main Street Modderfontein. It will be just over 2 km and will introduce visitors to some of the historic buildings in the precinct. It will last about 2.5 hours.
