I am working on a life of Sir Thomas Maclear and wonder if somebody can help me find the original drawings, reproduced by the late Prof Brian Warner in his book on Piazzi Smyth. They must date from ca 1840.
 
In his book, he thanks the "Durban City Library" for these pictures.

Among his papers we found a photocopied list. On one of its pages is written, in Warner's handwriting, "List of CPS drawings in Durban Museum. Title of Vols: Some African Scenes". 

The trouble is that neither institution mentioned seems to be current.

I'd appreciate hearing from anybody who knows their whereabouts.
