William Frederick Henry Pocock (1857 – 1922) Pioneer Pharmacist, Civic Leader and Photographer: Now and Then Photos of Muizenberg to Simon's Town

WFH Pocock bought the house Carisbrooke in St James and later built two smaller ones behind it. He lived there for many years and was Mayor of Kalk Bay – Muizenberg Municipality in 1897-98 and 1910-11, and City Councilor 1913 - 1916. He came from a long line of professional pharmacists and had a successful business that later became Heynes Mathew Ltd. He pioneered X-ray work, and was a leading photographer.

Barrie Gasson will present a brief biography of Pocock and screen a sequence of his photos matched with images of current scenes.
