In June 1900 Lord Roberts entered Pretoria. Many believed the war was over after nine months of fighting. Journalists, artists and even Lord Roberts prepared to return to England. Then the Magaliesberg Guerilla War began. The burning of Boer homes, the establishment of concentration camps and the rollout of the blockhouse network soon followed.
