The Architect pop-up gallery in Cape Town is hosting a retrospective exhibition of the work of UP alumnus Gawie Fagan to celebrate the architect’s 90th birthday. The exhibition was opened by the Department’s Dr Arthur Barker on 4 November; it will run until 7 December at the Cape Institute for Architecture at 71 Hout Street.

Fagan graduated from the Department in 1952. Apart from numerous buildings, awards, medals and books his achievements include being the Sophia Gray Laureate in 1991 and the Milde McWilliams Memorial Lecture Laureate in 2012. He participated in the 50 year Anniversary of the University of Pretoria’s School of Architecture Alumni Exhibition and was awarded the University of Pretoria’s Chancellor's Award in 2003.
