Hebert Prins lived a long and productive life. Herbert passed away on 15th April 2020 in his 93rd year. I wish to invite the Heritage community to contribute to a Herbert Prins Memorial Fund to be administered by the Johannesburg Heritage Foundation. The objective will be to remember Herbert and to take forward his work in heritage by sponsoring a prize in Heritage studies in the School of Architecture and Planning at Wits, where Herbert taught for 26 years. Another idea on the table is to purchase two or three books annually for the Wits Library with a memorial book plate.
