I'm a Swedish journalist who has lived in Cape Town for nearly two decades. I have recently become fascinated by the Scandinavians who lived here in the late 19th century. I'm doing research into what became of those who stayed after the Second Anglo-Boer War (many who fought were killed or imprisoned, I know). Does anyone from the community have written or photographic records they could share with me? It would be wonderful to find descendants of Scandinavians who arrived here before the late 1800s. I'm especially interested in material here in South Africa, since I have engaged the historical repositories in Sweden already.
