Orlando residents held a meeting on the 31 May 2018. The burning issue on the agenda was the deterioration of the Lekuma family house located at 105 Adams Street. The Lekuma family in Orlando and greater Soweto is affectionately known as the white family precisely because Mrs Lekuma was a white lrish woman. The first lady of South Africa Dr Tshepo Ramaphosa (affectionately known as Ousie Tshepo) was born in this house. Mrs Bridgette Radebe, the wife of Minister Jeff Radebe, was born in this house. Advocate Patrice Thlopane Motsepe, the President of Mamelodi Sundowns affectionately known as Masterpieces, was also born in this iconic house.

A 'Save Lekuma Heritage Site' campaign has been launched. The committee believes the house should receive a blue plaque to aid the preservation effort. Committee members are also pushing for the site to be officially declared as a heritage site.
