The Friends of the South African Museum have arranged to explore the Bo-Kaap area with Faried Basier from Iziko. The tour will commence at the Bo Kaap museum in Wale Street where Faried will give us a talk on the history of the area as well as a tour of the museum.

A visit to the nearby Awall Mosque will be followed by a walk along Dorp Street to hear about the fascinating architecture in this heritage area. En route Faried will tell us about two unique businesses in the area which we will visit.

We conclude the morning with lunch at Biesmillah Restaurant, specialists in Cape Malay curries and other South African dishes.
