The SA Military History Society's website has a new page called "Hidden Histories: South Africa's Overlooked Military Memorials'. Across the country and beyond, there are overlooked South African military memorials, cemeteries and graves, many fading, unmaintained or known only to a handful of people.
This new page aims to record such places and broaden our understanding of South Africa's military past. The SA Military History Society invites you to contribute information on overlooked South African military memorials in your area or found during your travels. Even a single photograph and description can help preserve a piece of history that might otherwise disappear.
You can explore the new page here: http://samilitaryhistory.org/memorial/index.html
Hidden Histories is a record that will grow over time through collective effort, interest and care. We look forward to your participation in preserving and interpreting our shared military heritage.
Anyone who wants to contribute is invited to contact the convenor by email to culturev@lantic.net
Thank you to the Border Historical Society for sharing these details.
