The 1914 Rebellion was a dramatic uprising by ex-Boer generals opposing SA’s role in WWI. Arguably the closest we’ve come to a coup d’état.
About the Speaker
John Illsley, a respected historian and author of In Southern Skies, taught for 36 years at Pretoria Boys High, where he was Head of History and Deputy Headmaster. He also restores and flies vintage aircraft.
