Parktown Ridge Heritage Area - The Baker Trail

Starting from Northwards we walk along Rockridge Road where not every house was designed by Herbert Baker and his partners, but most were including his own home The Stonehouse.

Only one grand mansion Northwards, but we’ll also be looking at Pilrig and St Margaret’s to understand this New order of architecture which Sir Alfred Milner wanted him to introduce. Baker loved the rocks and ridges of Johannesburg and many believe his finest work was done here.
