Kaapsehoop in its previous state as a dwindling mining community is fairly well captured in photographs from that time. A selection of those will be made available here soon. The challenge will be to find those spots in their current day state and capture them in cell phone or by camera. We have requested some town folk to join us which can help to define these forgotten or since built up areas. The challenge will be over at noon after which we hope to be able to put together an interesting gallery of these past and present visual captures.

We will be meeting outside the Silver Mist complex for a brief introduction and history of the town and gather again at 12:00 Nagkantoor across the road for refreshments at this most interesting bar with its fascinating collection of old South African newspaper history and memorabilia.

Braai fires and some pap and sheba will be provided for lunch on the lawn outside the pub. Please bring along your own meat, other preferred side dishes, plates and cutlery. A few additional camping chairs should also provide for more comfort. All drinks will be available at the bar.

Happening on Saturday 12 February 2022 at Kaapsehoop.
