The History Department at the University of the Witwatersrand is looking for a sessional teacher for the duration of 2016. This appointment will primarily serve as a teaching assistant to the Department's first year courses. Responsibilities include: General Admin (managing the online teaching site, and miscellaneous administrative matters); Lectures (to attend most lectures in the course and possibly offer a guest lecture or otherwise participate in lectures); Tutorials (to serve as Principal Tutor; to assist in management of tutors and tutorials); Student consultations; Essays/Tests (to manage submissions and to assist with marking); Exams (to assist with invigilation and marking).

Preference will be given to Postdocs, applicants who have been awarded a PhD, have submitted their PhD thesis, or are close to submitting. Non-South Africans need to be in possession of a valid visa.
