On Friday 8th March the MUCH unit installed another interpretive sign as part of an ongoing project. The site was that of the wreckage of the Commodore II which had been floating up and down Milnerton Lagoon for many years before it was moved to sit on dry land near the mouth of the Lagoon. The relocation of the piece of wreckage happened just before Christmas 2018 and was undertaken as part of a project between SAHRA and the City Council. The sign tells the history of the ship as well as her wrecking and how she came to be where she is today. We hope visitors enjoy finding out more about our maritime heritage. Thanks to everyone involved in helping to put up the sign!
