Warwick Market is the largest of its kind in South Africa with up to 460 000 people travelling through the market daily and is the single most authentic African Market that South Africa has to offer.

  • The Ladies bead market (only on a Friday) sees women come from far and wide to sell their colourful products to the locals.
  • The Early Morning Market has been in existence for over 100 years selling a variety of fresh produce, spices, and live poultry. The operation of the market relies largely on barrow operators who are hired by traders to carry their loads.
  • The Lime and Impepho Market.
  • The Herb/Muti Market which functions much like a western pharmacy. Customers approach the herb sellers and traditional healers with their complaints and the healers supply them with medicine accordingly
  • Victoria Street Market -The original traders in this area were Indian indentured labourers who traded along the street paving’s of Victoria Street between 1860 and 1910.  =In 1910 the municipality allocated this area and established the market to house these traders.
