A visit to the Rand Club's historic and beautiful Main Bar - considered the longest bar in Africa – gives us an excuse to explore Joburg’s Financial District at night.

The area contains some of the City’s most important buildings – the magnificent Edwardian streetscape at Harrison and Fox; the art deco Aegis Building, Union Castle Building; and the towering, cathedral-like Standard Bank Centre which stands in glorious isolation in its own plaza. But perhaps the most impressive of all is 44 Main Street, illumination enhancing its monumentality at night.
