We have been looking for information on His Lordship's Larder in Durban. My father has told me the story about it being across the road from the Old Court House building. All I can find is that it existed and who the architect was.

We have a Christmas greetings card from the hotel with the names Mr and Mrs Proctor, 1906 (my great grand parents...first generation in South Africa). They played some sort of role at the hotel - potentially management of some sort.

Does anyone from the community have any information on the hotel? Do you think it is possible to find out more about the people that worked there? Any leads are welcome.

I do know that after they moved away from Durban they owned the little house at Worlds View, up Old Howick Road. A watering hole for inland travellers.

Thank you.
