The lovely front door opens into an entrance hall, with gleaming warm and welcoming wooden floors. Gracious rooms with high ceilings are the norm in this home and the living and dining rooms are no exception. The living room opens out through pretty French doors onto to the loveliest of verandahs shaded by a leafy vine which in turn looks out onto the garden and magnificent oak tree. The oak tree was planted about 80 years ago by a young boy, son of the owner at the time. This “young boy” recently paid a visit to his old home, now a man in his eighties!

A delightful fresh and bright kitchen has the loveliest feature of a north facing bay window for those cosy family meals. This also opens on to the vine covered verandah for easy entertaining. Off the dining room is a large room complete with a kitchenette and bathroom facility. This can either be blocked off and used as a separate flat as it has its own entrance or used as very comfortable home office. Upstairs finds you in two magnificent bedrooms opening on to the upstairs verandah, each with a Victorian fireplace and each has a spectacular view over Rhodes University. The main bedroom has a walk in closet and gorgeous large bathroom. There are two more very comfortable bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs.

Outside is a generous flat, two bedrooms, wooden floors throughout and plenty of cupboard space. There is a garage and two tack rooms as well as a garden shed.

The property has 20 000 litres of water plumbed in and a garden terraced down to the road which is so in keeping with the whole look. Very nice fruit and nut trees keep the larder full, and the home itself keeps the family happy to be home!
