Join us for five days of festivities to celebrate the grand opening of the Zwipi Underground Bar as phase 1 of the Thunder Walker Project by JoburgPlaces on Gandhi Square (subsequent phases will involve the Scatterlings Restaurant and Events Venue and the Balcony Gardens Hotel). Bookings are essential as we will not be able to cater for walk-in customers on our launch weekend.
What does it entail? The five vault rooms of the erstwhile United Bank vault, dating back to 1906, will be set-up each with its own food theme. Up to 50 guests can be seated per lunch or dinner with tables spread out between the rooms. Guests can journey through the rooms while selecting foods/drinks from each room - a perfect journey through the city’s history, combined with a delectable tasting experience.

The price per person is R595 per person and this includes a Gin & Tonic welcome drink, a three-course meal, a mini tour of the Thunder Walker building and Gandhi Square, a poem recital and live marimba performance.
