Join Kathy Munro and SJ de Klerk of Joburg Heritage for an informative walking tour of the once fashionable suburb of Belgravia from 14h00 to about 16h30 on 21 September 2019. Safe parking is available at Jeppe Boys School, where we shall admire its Beaux Arts architecture and splendid sporting and military history. A short walk will take us to the attractive St John the Divine Anglican Church, designed by Dickson, who also created the Auckland Park Club House of the fashionable Johannesburg Country Club. This Church used to be the place of worship for the Jeppe family. Some distance down the road we shall find two of Johannesburg’s most attractive buildings; Salisbury House successfully fusing elements of Victorian and Edwardian architecture and St James Prep School, where the well-known St Mary’s School for Girls originated.

Wear your walking shoes, sun block and hat and bring some drinking water although pit stops will be available en route.

Cost R100 for members and R170 for non-members. Book through Computicket or email Eira at mail@joburgheritage.co.za
