[Time certainly does stand still] for the clock in the clocktower of Muizenberg Station, which has been broken for at least 20 years. The Muizenberg Historical Conservation Society has over the past four years offered to repair it, free of charge. At no cost to Prasa. We have the money, we have found the skills, we know what is wrong with it, all we need is permission to go in and remove the clock for repair. Some gears need to be re-cut and the clock needs to be disassembled and cleaned. Twice we have tried at length to gain that permission, and twice we have failed, not because of rejection or denial but simply a total lack of response. No-one in PRASA will accept responsibility for this tiny undertaking, emails are not returned, phone calls never get a response even when they reach the intended party, a rare event. And eventually we give up. Glenn Babb   even wrote to then Minister of Transport reasoning that was as high as we could go. There has been no response to date and I doubt we will ever get one.
