Dutch photographer Luuk Kramer (https://luukkramer.nl), is compiling a high quality publication, provisonally titled ‘Dutch Waterworks World Wide’. He is visiting Cape Town and environs in March 2019 to photograph water-related infrastructure projects with a Dutch past. His project does not only focus on the historic past – the VOC-period – but will include Dutch-related waterworks to the present.

Luuk is an acclaimed architectural photographer and recently published a well-received book on water works in the Netherlands (click here to view).

His new project, ‘Dutch Waterworks World Wide’,  will also to be published by NAi 010.

With Luuk, I have compiled a list of waterworks to possibly include in his project. We would however be very pleased to add to our list. If any member of the heritage-public in South Africa has a recommendation, they are invited to forward such to me at njc.arch@gmail.com.

Thank you!

Nicholas Clarke
